Heh - this rocks.

I dunno if I'd even be brave enough to try
sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally simmered in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours.
But somehow it feels good knowing that if I wanted to I could give it a shot.
The US government said it is planning to relax the ban on imported meats which prevents the sale of haggis.
The Scottish government said it was greatly encouraged by the move, which was also welcomed by haggis producers.
The ban was introduced in 1989 because of concerns about the safety of British meat during the BSE scare.

Prepare for another flip in the video screen area.... LCD's are now old hat.
The new devices, which the company will show off at the Integrated Systems Europe trade show in Amsterdam next month, reportedly use 25 percent as much electricity as equivalently-sized LCD screens. And they should be easier to manufacture too, since they don't have a backplane of transistors like LCD screens: the image is generated by a laser beam that sweeps across phosphor stripes under the control of a scanning mirror.

You'll be scoring big when you bring these out on game day - woot!
This tasty summer sausage is made from fresh beef and pork, cured and slowly smoked over hickory fires and then shaped authentically into a football, complete with lacing and stitches. It's sure to score a touchdown with your friends while tailgating or at big-game parties, just don't play catch with it for too long.

I mentioned this on Facebook as it was a personal rant at how the Hallowen Special got cut over the years - but this year ABC took it too far.
Gone was Sally's materialistic letter to Santa, which finally sends Charlie screaming from the room when she says she will settle for 10s and 20s.
Gone was Schroeder's miraculous multiple renditions of "Jingle Bells" from a toy piano, including the one that sounds distinctly like a church organ.
Gone was Linus using his blanket as an improvised slingshot to knock a can off the fence no one else can hit, complete with ricochet sound effect.
Gone were the kids catching snowflakes on their tongues and commenting on their flavor.
Gone even was poor Shermy's only line. He thought he had it bad because he was always tasked to play a shepherd. He had no idea.
Enough! - bad enough the cuts were for ads but when you cut enough content to kill off the whole message of the original ip?
Too much.

an extreme board packed with an arsenal of high-end features, including an NVIDIA NF200 chip used to facilitate a trio of PCIe x16 slots for for three-way SLI/CrossFire configurations.
With 3 way crossfire you know this is a gaming big daddy -
the high-end board is armed with a bevy of overclocking tools, as well as the promise of an "ultimate audio experience".
Priced at £209 and expected to hit retail early in December, it's a high-end offering that hopes to become the perfect accompaniment to your Lynnfield Core i5 or Core i7 processor.

Very cool - yet quite expensive and submitted by Bill
It's a silver plated model of the Space Battleship Yamato (AKA - the Argo for US Star Blazers fans). $850 and only available for a limited time (Thanksgiving - March 2010). Oh and it has a remote that makes it light up and make sounds so you can pretend to fire the "Wave Motion Gun" at your cat when he pukes on your bed.
Here's the Japanese link with much cooler pics:

A goodly list of desktop shortcuts that do cool things that you never knew you could shortcut - like
turn the desktop icons on or off.... or turn off the monitor.
Pretty much all of these shortcuts work in Windows 7 or Vista, but some of them also work in XP.

After all, it's not the end of the world.
Or is it?
Definitely not, the Mayan Indian elder insists. "I came back from England last year and, man, they had me fed up with this stuff."
It can only get worse for him. Next month Hollywood's "2012" opens in cinemas, featuring earthquakes, meteor showers and a tsunami dumping an aircraft carrier on the White House.
ok - can we put this to rest now? - btw if any of you are still sure of doom please email me so I can give you a bank account of mine where you can safely (cough) "store" all your money .....

A new zero-day exploit targeting Adobe Reader, as well as 9.1.3 and earlier versions of Adobe Systems' Acrobat, drops a backdoor onto computers using JavaScript, Trend Micro researchers warned on Friday.
Again with the Acrobat madness - I'm just about sick of flaws from Reader this year...
Adobe announced on Thursday that it would release an update to fix the hole on Tuesday, the same day as Microsoft's Patch Tuesday.
So, tomorrow hopefully we will see this released - and hopefully someone will notice and install it.

There's a big part of me that is completely skeptical about this, still - it does look like the RIAA is giving up on DRM.
Now, in a shocking turnaround, the outfit seems to have come to the realization that DRM does more harm than good and has officially declared its death.
I wonder what this will do to the Zune - which is all in love with DRM ... ? Not that I'd care personally, It'd be a cold day in heck before I'd buy a Zune.

An interesting thought here - whatever channels you subscribe to you will eventually be able to see on the web - supposedly from anywhere.
In "coming weeks," Comcast plans to offer about 5,000 subscribers access to cable TV shows and movies currently unavailable online (legally). It reckons the test is the first national trial of its kind.
No other details on rollout timing or if any extra price will be associated.

I could so use this - My car isn't the hardest to recognize - it's got a really distinctive dent and all. Still, there's days where I can't remember where I left it. This gadget comes to the rescue -
key-chain sized GPS Homing Device. This simple little device has just one function: it helps you find your way back to where you came from. It has a real GPS chip that locks down your location within 5 yards and when you're ready to go back, an on-screen arrow works with the built-in compass to guide you...
I suppose it could work for just about anything you might lose.
$79.95

The 3D glasses you need to see the 3D action are distributed for free at SoBe displays in super markets. The list of shops where you will be able to find the Super Bowl 3D glasses include: Safeway/Vons, K-Mart, Ralphs, Kroger, A&P, Frys, Supervalu, Food Lion, Pathmark, Coburn, Fairway, Fresh Brands, Hy Vee, Nash Finch, Dollar General and Winnie Dixie.
Target and Meijers will have the 3D glasses only on January 31st.
Mind you these are yellow and blue - not red and green just in case you are building your own!
- by RobThe new version of that classic from PBS - The Electric Company has aired and it's not quite like the technicolor hippied out wierdness you remember....
Now as then, many of the letter lessons are put to music, or reinforced with music. But where the music in the 1970s was bright, upbeat pop, with a sprinkling of sing-along folk, the keys to the music now have been turned over to rap.
No word if Letterman is still able to leap the capitol O in a single bound.

After the download servers totally crashed on Microsoft's end ( You'd think they'd have been better prepared eh? ) They have resumed downloads and for 2 weeks there will be no limitation to how many people can download. Every Download gets a Cd key. The trial period still expires in August .. so that hasn't changed.
Oh, and I found this little primer on burning a DVD of Win 7.

If you are in the market for a new laptop take a look at the new Y Series from Lenovo. They have 3 price points, some serious graphics cards, hella memory and storage and are very attractively priced.
All of these guys feature 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen displays, up to 500GB storage, up to 4GB memory, surround sound, optional NVIDIA GFX graphics, a multi-touch touchpad, and facial recognition technology. Additionally, the 16-inch Y650 comes packing JBL speakers and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts screen brightness levels.
Slim, small and sexy - the bad boy model is $1199 - not bad at all. Expect these to debut in March.

Netflix, the Web's top video rental store, has corrected a glitch that has plagued some customers of the company's streaming-video service for several weeks, Netflix said Friday.
Beginning in mid-November, owners of Roku's Netflix Player and Microsoft's Xbox 360 began complaining on Web forums about seeing dramatic drop-off in video quality and long buffering delays, which prevented them watching films.

Ok, as always - don't fully trust anything you see on the net without thorough examination. It is getting near Halloween and this could be a viral for some new movie we all haven't heard of yet.
That said , if it isn't - its a might creepy.

Enough Styling for tonight - tho welcome to the Dragon iteration which takes over for the phoenix beta.
I gotta test this...
you don't need to click - but if ya do it should open in a new window regardless of browser.
I'm off to see a certain redhead and listen to Asia's new album - yes - the 4 founding members have a new album after 25 years.
