Thanks to Osh for pointing this out - looks freaking cool! I mean they got Ozzy.

Check it....

We thought searching radio should be easier (we like easy stuff), and we also felt we were missing out on great stations, so we built RadioTuna. We imagined how a radio search engine should work and set about creating it. The result turned out to be quite a lot less easy to build than we’d imagined, but it is the site that we were always looking for. It turns out we were right - we had been missing out on lots of great stations!

Awesome - now tune in, turn off and um, tuna fish? :>>

The album will feature 15 classic AC/DC songs, selected from ten of the band's studio albums, ranging from 1976 to 2008. Included in the album are notable classics such as "Shoot To Thrill", "Thunderstruck", "Let There Be Rock" and "War Machine", from the recent Black Ice release.

Another stupid move by a record company. They don't think that hearing a song for free gives them anything.... perhaps they missed the last 40 years of Radio Play = Album sales ... and Radio is what? Free.

Good riddance Warner, I'm sure that this won't inspire more people to just pirate the music.

I'm happily looking forward to this one,

Devo is currently finishing its first album of new music since 1990’s Smooth Noodle Maps. “It’s got quite a bit of form, and unless we were to all of a sudden have an about-face, we’ve got it pretty much 90 percent or more nailed down,” Mothersbaugh tells Paste. “We kind of did some bold things with this record. You talk about what’s changed in Devo over the last 30 years—I think something that’s changed is a somewhat more sophisticated approach to music and different tools that allow us to voice ourselves in ways that we didn’t do back in the day.”

Oh please don't be using Autotune - that's my only request.

I wrote about this earlier last year and it looks like it's coming true. Get ready for a whole new Hendrix experience!

An album of previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix studio recordings is set for release in March, kicking off a brand new exploration of the legendary guitar virtuoso's life and works in the lead-up to the 40th anniversary of his death in 1970. "Valleys of Neptune," a 12-song collection that includes the final studio sessions of the original Jimi Hendrix Experience lineup and Hendrix's first recordings with bassist Billy Cox, is set for release on Mar. 9 on Sony's Legacy Recordings. The album marks the launch of the 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project, a partnership between the label and Experience Hendrix LLC, the company charged with overseeing the guitarist's music and image.

Do you remember all the Glam Rock and Hair bands that did Christmas songs? I bet you don't remember all of THESE.

Yes but no but Yes has a great list that will surely bring back the 80's - um, for better or worse :>>

To really put the X in Xmas, tease out your hair, put on your spandex and raise your limp fist.

Hair bands of the 80s may have hit it big with ballads, but they also sold out on the holidays.

Enjoy this little flashback playlist.

Whaddya know - Google is getting into music videos.

If you haven’t heard, YouTube and Universal are launching a new music video Web site tonight with great fanfare and a giant, star-studded party in New York City. VEVO will host most of YouTube’s music videos (85 percent of them, actually), including ones from EMI, Sony Music and Universal.

Kinda like the MTV of the 00's - now all they need is someone like Beavis and Butthead to make it complete.

The damaged footage of the band playing See Emily Play has been restored and will now be screened for the first time since its initial 1967 broadcast.

I mentioned last week how Google is getting into the music scene, today some more details became available.

Google will announce a new playable-music search service next Wednesday, creating a special box in search results with links to songs to stream and download, multiple sources familiar with the situation told Wired.com. The service — likely called Google Audio — will be powered in part with streaming music from LaLa and recommendations from iLike, the sources said.

Interesting for sure, I wonder how they'll justify the downloadable content?

No - they didn't re-animate him ... and he didn't fake his own death or anything.

“We probably have another decade of music, including video. Every 12 to 18 months we’ll continue to have new releases and Dagger [Experience Hendrix's label for live recordings] official bootlegs,”

Well, this is pretty cool - I'm wondering why they waited until now?

Awesome . I don't have a CD player in the car but it'll go on my phone and mp3 player for sure.....

my wife and I were replaying some of our favorite levels of DOOM I and II. I thought it would be neat to play the soundtrack's MIDI files through something other than the generic garden variety PC soundcard. I don't believe that I am the first to do this, but it was fun anyway.

Generally, there was a big improvement in the sound of the drums, particularly the hi-hats and other cymbals. A synth guitar still sounds like a synth guitar though. I very briefly considered overdubbing my own on it, but quickly decided that that would be worse than the synth version.

Burn it to a CD and it makes great driving music during rush hour traffic!

It's time for an 80's hair band resurgence. Could this be the impetus? Probably not. But not as bad as I was expecting.

You're right though... he's clearly been cryogenically preserved for the past 25 years.
