All Geeks need cables, in fact non Geeks do too. I recently was introduced to this site and thought I'd share it.
The stock an unbelievable amount of cables and connectors - I consider myself a pretty hard core gadget / hardware enthusiast and I saw items there I didn't even know were made.
Their tag line "state-of-the-art home theater cables and accessories for hi-def plasma and LCD monitors, HD Blu-Ray and DVD players, stereo receivers, projectors and more"
Looking around the net I compared the price for a 3 Ft. Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable - 28 Gauge - Gold Plated 1.3b cable and found them to beat many of the suppliers out there. (This retailed from 2 to 6 dollars more elsewhere.)
So - price wise they are spot on - what else do they have going for them? (cus you all know I'm not solely focused on price, right?)
Well there's this -
Optimized Cable Company warrants every cable we sell against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the cable. If your cable ever fails, simply return it to us for a replacement cable of equal specification.
And then there's the shipping ....
You can't go wrong with free. I also spoke with the owner David French, I asked what was the biggest selling point of the online store..
We always have prided ourselves on our inventory, but I think our biggest draw is our prices. We aim to save consumers money by cutting costs and also offering free shipping, one of the main things that distinguish us from other online retailers.
I also had to ask if he stored any Credit Card info online or on a server with connection to the net - (I've worked with too many E-Commerce sites to know that I wouldn't want my info in some unsecured DB somewhere)
Our customer’s private information is very important to us, and we do not store any numbers on our server.
Right, so you got a Technology geek that is working with gear he loves,
a smaller company with real humans to talk to and competitive prices,
and a promise to stand behind their product.
That to me is the holy trifecta of geek stores. SO if you need a cable or connector - go check 'em out, and if you get occasion to talk to anyone there - tell 'em Cap'n Rob sent ya.
