This is way cool - a full featured online video editor. Now no matter where you are or what hardware you have, you can stitch up something interesting.

* Remix/trim videos and images
* Add music, transitions and effects
* Add captions and subtitles
* Automated transcoding
* 1-Click export to YouTube
* Export videos for iPhone, Windows and Mac (MPEG-4 – H.264, MPEG-4 – XVID, AVI – XVID, Flash – H.264)

That’s not all either. They just upgraded the editor a few weeks ago to include webcam/voice-over support, slow motion effects, green screen compatibility, and colorization techniques

Gotta hand it to Airhogs- I have two RC choppers and now I want one more.

Their new Hawk Eye RC chopper, which is due sometime in the Fall for about $65, is able to capture around 5 minutes of 320×240 resolution video, or hundreds of photos at 640×480. Useless for those of you hoping to use it for 2nd unit aerial photography on your low-budget blockbuster, but good enough for the rest of us who want to capture the annoyed reactions of visiting family and friends.

The Hawk Eye can also be connected directly to your PC for transferring the videos, and while you’re doing that the helicopter also charges, so you can kill two birds with one stone and be back in the air in no time. It also comes with a 2-channel remote of course, letting you control altitude and spin the chopper left or right, and start/stop the video recording or snap photos.

Think you have a high end sound system? This guy spent years building his whole house around the stereo and I can only imagine how this sounds.

Looking down on Dick Burwen's Sound Studio built in 1965-1966, the plan has not changed. He designed it for 5 channels at that time and
built his home around it. The left rear speaker horn contains a Lowry organ, now used as a sound diffuser, and the right rear horn holds
a 120 year-old Steinway B piano. At the listening sofa the rear speakers deliver reflected sound.

Dick started designing the equipment for his current sound system in 1962 and it is almost finished.

Link: http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/about/

A very smart move from Google on this one .....

You can build just about any app you can imagine with App Inventor. Often people begin by building games like WhackAMole or games that let you draw funny pictures on your friend's faces. You can even make use of the phone's sensors to move a ball through a maze based on tilting the phone.

But app building is not limited to simple games. You can also build apps that inform and educate. You can create a quiz app to help you and your classmates study for a test. With Android's text-to-speech capabilities, you can even have the phone ask the questions aloud.

To use App Inventor, you do not need to be a developer. App Inventor requires NO programming knowledge. This is because instead of writing code, you visually design the way the app looks and use blocks to specify the app's behavior.

Lifehacker has the goods for all of you that want to see Hulu but are barred from viewing simply because of your geographical location.

This method should allow access not just to Hulu, but many other US-only streaming sites. Note that this may disable Flash on other sites, so you'll only want to enable this while you're watching video on one of these sites.

Wow, that's a lot of phones - looks like Android is the iPhone killer.

More than 160,000 mobile phones powered by Google's Android operating system are being sold every day, the Internet giant said Wednesday on the eve of the launch of the new iPhone from rival Apple.

Google chief executive Eric Schmidt, speaking to the CNBC television network at the unveiling of a new Android phone from Motorola, the "Droid X," said his company was engaged in a "battle over the next set of mobile platforms."

A light cycle that can climb the walls - and a keyboard with the coolest themed blue lighting I've seen in a while ... and let's not forget the lighted Xbox controllers.... omg and the holographically projected faces on the action figures - WOW.

The gravity-defying racer uses suction technology developed by a company called Air Hogs. Although the toy light cycle is a tad noisy, it spins around on the wall as easily as it does on the ground. True to the movie, the vehicle projects a beam of light behind it, and if it’s crossed by another light cycle, it loses power and will fall off the wall.

Phones have come a long way eh?

I installed the benchmark onto my trusty T-Mobile G2 (a rebadged HTC Hero, currently running Android 1.5) and on firing it up discovered that it tops out at around 2.3 Mflop/s which makes it around 66% as fast as a single processor on a 1979 Cray 1 supercomputer. OK, so maybe that’s not particularly impressive but the very latest crop of Android phones are a different matter entirely.

According to the current Top 10 Android Linpack results, a tweaked Motorola Droid is capable of scoring 52 Mflop/s which is over 15 times faster than the 1979 Cray 1 CPU.

Well, this is one way to get the party on the moon started....

As currently envisioned, the robots that will land on the lunar surface in 2015 will be 660-pound behemoths equipped with rolling tank-like treads, solar panels, seismographs, high-def cameras and a smattering of scientific instruments. They'll also have human-like arms for collecting rock samples that will be returned to Earth via rocket. The robots will be controlled from Earth, but they'll also be imbued with their own kind of machine intelligence, making decisions on their own and operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Go Japan!

Oscar Myer has my vote here for the coolest contest ever.

In what has to be the only contest that should make your dad incredibly happy but also slowly kill him, the title of "Oscar Mayer Bacon Sizzling Dad" can be bestowed upon your father just in time for Father's Day (Sunday, June 20). Dad will also be awarded $5,000.

Submit a photo of your dad with a caption that is no more than 50 words, explaining why you dad should win, why he's great, why he loves bacon, etc. Participants have to enter at Facebook.com/OscarMayer between today (May 14) and June 4.
