Cox Cable Will shut off your service for 3 DMCA notices

In an astoundingly rotten move - Cox cable (formerly my favorite provider) has implemented a heavy handed policy. You get a DMCA notice - they shut you right off. You go through phone hell for 2 days to get back online and if you get 2 more... Good luck getting service.

Mind you Cox has no legal obligation to shut anything off under the DMCA - this is their choice as a company. If cable companies weren't local monopolies you might have an option of boycotting them.... but let's face it -who you gonna go to when Cox is your only local cable provider?

One things for sure, they're finally living up to their name. >:XX

I got back from vacation in August: Cox said I was "past due." I paid them every dime (I was NOT late). In Septembere my bill came on the 15th and was "past due" from the 1st. Called them and they said I was two months past due. I had them stop the worthless TV and the phone and kept the internet. paid everythign they asked for. In October it was past due and I piad them penalties again. I complained -- they do not care. Now this month (15th) it is past due from the 1st and NOW they want $375 for $40 internet service that is NOT past due. So now I have to cancel the internet and find and ISP. They say I have to go to their office with cancelled checks to prove I paid them (which I will do)(they do not care). They have turned into crooks and you cannot get them to be honest.
